My experience at Vertu Škoda Chesterfield could have been better because Mine was a simple transaction. No part exchange, no finance just cash in exchange for goods. Just the same as my weekly supermarket shop. The reality was "ordeal by text " with some texts needing magic numbers to be typed in during a "live" phone call. The worst problem was that everything in the car that wasn't screwed down had been removed . It was supposedly in a sealed bag in the boot but wasn't. Recovering these items from Vertu took about a fortnight: a fortnight of failed deadlines, apologies, promised return phone calls that didn't happen, excuses etc. I was left with a complex car and no handbook to help me understand how it worked. I have been buying cars now for 54 years (yes, even from British Leyland in the 1970s and 80s) but this was my worst experience. By the way, the car, a 10 month old Octavia estate is lovely.
