Stebbings Car Superstore King's Lynn

I purchased a car from Stebbings in King's Lynn for £37,000, paying the full balance before collecting it on 1 June. Unfortunately, what should have been an exciting experience turned into a very disappointing one.
I had arranged to meet the salesperson, Jack, at 11:00 am. When I arrived and checked in at reception, I was told that nobody by that name worked there. As I had already paid £37,000 in full, this immediately caused me a great deal of anxiety, and I genuinely began to worry that something had gone badly wrong. I was asked to wait in the reception area, where I sat for around 30 minutes without any update. Eventually, I asked another employee what was happening. They informed me that Jack had actually been sitting at his desk around the corner waiting for me for the same 30 minutes. This confusion could easily have been avoided with better communication.
Once the paperwork was completed and I went to inspect the car before driving away, I immediately noticed a 2-inch bulge in the sidewall of the front tyre, making it unsafe to drive. The tyre had to be replaced before I could leave, causing a further delay of around 30 minutes.
When I was finally ready to drive away, a warning message appeared on the dashboard stating that the charging flap was open. I checked it, and it was securely closed. I returned to the showroom and informed the staff. The car was taken away for another 30 minutes, but they were unable to fix the fault. This was clearly not a new issue, as the warning appeared immediately, so it is difficult to believe it wasn't known before collection. Because I live around 90 minutes away, returning the car was very inconvenient. To their credit, they agreed that I could have the fault repaired at a garage closer to home and that they would cover the cost.
After getting the car home, I discovered that the vehicle had received only a very basic valet. There were multiple stains throughout the interior, including what appeared to be chocolate residue on the rear cup holder. I sent photographs to Stebbings, and they offered for me to return the car so they could valet it properly. However, this would have involved a three-hour round trip and leaving the car with them for around two hours, which was simply not practical. I instead asked whether they would compensate me for having the interior professionally cleaned locally. Unfortunately, I never received a response.
While the staff I dealt with were polite, the overall collection experience fell well below what I would expect when purchasing a £37,000 vehicle. Basic checks should have identified the damaged tyre, the dashboard fault should have been resolved before collection, the car should have been presented in a properly valeted condition, and communication on the day should have been much better. Overall, I was left feeling that the preparation and customer service did not match the price of the vehicle or the reputation I expected.

The experience at Stebbings Car Superstore was great because the staff were very helpful but not pushy. Left me to view the vehicles to make my choice but attended as soon as I had a query. Dealt with during the purchase very professionally and efficiently. Great experience. Also as an aside the toilets were immaculate

I'd endorse Stebbings Car Superstore because overall they’re service from start to finish was really great, however l lost a months road tax refund because they didn’t submit immediately on the 27th l had to chase them
