My experience at Bristol Street SEAT Birmingham could have been better because the gentleman who sold me the car was originally very helpful on my first visit to the dealership. They managed to find me a car to my exact spec. I agreed with the salesman that I would be back later on to discuss the purchase, whilst I was away from the dealership I managed to find the vehicle on the Bristol street website and went back to discuss figures etc. The salesman was originally trying to charge me a completely different cost to what the vehicle actually was on your own website, he said it should never have been on there. We discussed a finance package however the costings didn't seem to add up. I said I was going to speak with the bank to get a cost as a comparison. I put down a deposit to secure the vehicle and get it from the Carlisle branch to the branch in Birmingham. On the Monday I had a phone call to say that they really needed to know what I was doing with my finance however I hadn't even seen the car which I would need to have done before I agreed to a finance package. A couple of days passed and I didn't hear anything else so I eventually rang back and spoke to someone else due to a day off. This person never rang me back so I phoned again and finally someone called me back, only to tell me that I would get a phone call back the next day by the original salesman. Again no phone call back the following day so I phoned again and managed to speak with them and said the car would be in within the next couple of days. When I spoke with him he said "was he Asian" when I said I had spoken with someone the day before and he hadn't had chance to speak to him, just a courtesy call would have been sufficient to say he was waiting to catch up with his colleague. When I did speak to him I asked if any discount was available on the car and he replied with "Ha, you've got no chance. The vehicle was put on at the wrong price so we are having to honour that"
I went to see the car once it was in stock and agreed to purchase but was getting the loan from the bank, he was still saying that his finance was cheaper and that I should definitely check my figures with them. When we used an online calculator to check the rate Bristol Street were offering it was completely different to what he has said it was. It made me question whether he was actually able to sell finance as when I have previously bought vehicles, there was a different person to sell me the finance to who sold the car and they usually have to be approved to sell finance.
I went to pick up my car on the 19th June, when arriving at the dealership I had a quick check around the vehicle and all was fine. I sat down with the salesman to pay for the car and when we looked at the figures they were all wrong. The cost of the car was incorrect, the price I was getting for my current car was incorrect and he couldn't explain it. He bought over his manager who amended the costs and I eventually paid for the vehicle. I asked if he could show me how to use the sat nav and it seemed like a hassle to do so.
I asked Bristol street to transfer over my personalised number plate, which they did. I gave all documents to them and I then received the V5 so I could go and get my plates changed. I called on the 1st July to ask if it was ok to go in on the 2nd, the lady I spoke too said that she would leave a message for the salesman to call me back on the morning of the 2nd. As I hadn't heard anything by 10:30, I called through only to find it was his day off. I spoke with another gentleman who was going to call me back and let me know when it could be done. By 3 o clock I hadn't had a call back. I called back again to get an update, after calling three times due to being cut off each time I finally managed to speak with the same man. He said he had tried to call me back but it went to voicemail, no voicemail was left and no other attempt to call me back was made. I went in on the afternoon of the 2nd to amend the plates and this was the only thing that was completed quickly throughout my whole experience. The gentleman I spoke with when I arrived yesterday was very helpful and kept me updated.
I would never recommend anyone to use this dealership, I continually had to chase them and phone calls were never returned.
My experience at Bristol Street SEAT Birmingham could have been better because sell a car that fit for purpose
I would not recommend Bristol Street SEAT Birmingham because the exchange process took too long the person who was dealing with the process kept stopping for chats with his colleagues forgetting that I was waiting. I paid in cash but the process was like I was applying for finance. It took over 2 hours for them to hand over the car. At one point I had to remind them that I needed to go. The car was not cleaned and had stain marks on the seats.
I would not recommend Bristol Street Motors SEAT Birmingham because I clearly set a list of items and actions that needed to be done correctly prior to collection and made it clear i did not want to come back and forth to the dealership. The bodywork of the car was not to a satisfactory finish, the glovebox was broken and to date there is no confirmation of the timing belt has been replaced (even though i was advised this was done by the sales manager and will provide the print out to confirm). I am now waiting a call from the dealership to confirm when the car will be booked back in for this work which is well overdue and should have been done prior to selling.
My experience at Bristol Street SEAT Birmingham could have been better because of the sales managed attitude was unkind and impolite and utterly indifferent.
I would not recommend Bristol Street SEAT Birmingham because they carried out a job on my previous car when I very specifically told them NOT TO! Resulting in me having to buy this new car. I am STILL waiting for my spare key, MOT, and interior repair, and a call back regarding the issue of the unauthorised work. Despite numberous phone calls to the dealership, I am still yet to receive any sort of response back. I'm completely disgusted with the service I have received.
