My experience at Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall Sunderland was positive because the sale went through relatively quickly and I am very happy with my new car. It was also sold at a very good price which really helped me to make my decision. My local branch in Bristol were fantastic on the day that I collected the vehicle and were very friendly and helpful.
The communication from the Sunderland branch however could be improved. The manner in which emails were sent was poor, with no correct email structure and lots of poor spelling and grammar - it was not particularly professional at any stage. There also seemed to be a reluctance to communicate with me via email despite my requests for written confirmation of multiple things to do with the vehicle.
I was also not contacted by the branch following certain things e.g when the vehicle was being moved from Sunderland to my local branch which is a fundamental stage of the transaction and I should have been contacted. I had to email the branch and enquire, despite being told I would receive a phone call multiple times.
At times on the phone there also felt like there was a disinterested air about those that I spoke to which is disappointing when you are simply asking for basic information about the vehicle with a view to buying it and considering the large amount of money that was involved.
These are very basic customer service attributes that should automatically be there and I felt they were lacking which was disappointing.
Additionally, the car's interior had not been properly cleaned and I have had to remove several obvious stains to the seats and ceiling of the car. When I moved one of the seats, there was also an old chip left behind which is poor and should have been removed prior to being sold. There seems to be a lack of attention to detail paid at this branch which needs to be improved going forward.
